Hi Matthew,

Thank you very much for your suggestion, which I tried. Regrettably without
success.

You write:

>If you look at that Xorg log, you'll see that the EDID received for
>the monitor doesn't show 1920x1080 as a valid resolution.

Perhaps I don't understand how to read the log file:

>(II) RADEON(0): First detailed timing is preferred mode
>snip...
>(II) RADEON(0): Supported detailed timing:
>(II) RADEON(0): clock: 138.5 MHz Image Size: 510 x 290 mm
>(II) RADEON(0): h_active: 1920 h_sync: 1968 h_sync_end 2000 h_blank_end 2080 h_border: 0
>(II) RADEON(0): v_active: 1080 v_sync: 1083 v_sync_end 1088 v_blanking: 1111
I understand this to mean that 1920x1080 is the preferred mode, with
these parameters. The monitor manual also states that
1920x1080 is the 'best'.

But perhaps I'll try playing with some of the other resolutions.

Thanks again for your suggestion.
Scott
