Malfunctioning keyboard

Hi all
After an upgrade of my debian system, including the replacement of xfree86
by xorg, my keyboard is now showing a strange behaviour. The console works
fine, but under X the pressing of half of the keys doesn't show any effect.
However, "e", "z", "y" and all of the special characters and numbers, return
and tab are working just the way they should.
The config and log files seem normal to me:
==/etc/X11/xorg.conf==
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
Driver "kbd"
Option "CoreKeyboard"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
Option "XkbLayout" "de_CH"
EndSection
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen "Default Screen"
InputDevice "Generic Keyboard"
InputDevice "Configured Mouse"
EndSection
==
==/var/log/Xorg.0.log==
