Feature request: modular config files

At one time, I was using "make" and m4 templates to generate a xorg.conf 
file
much as one would generate a "sendmail.cf" file...  including features 
of various
resolutions, dual-headedness, etc.

I agree that a divide-and-conquer approach would make things more 
manageable.
