Xgl discussion has been occurring on the xorg at freedesktop.org list.
Right now Xgl consists of kdrive with Xgl replacing XAA. Then there
are platform variations in CVS along with Xgl.

this could use some work.
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software_2fXgl

Xglx - Xgl that runs nested inside of an existing Xserver. It uses GLX
for windowing.
Xegl - Xgl that runs on a standalone OpenGL stack with EGL extensions.
Xegl should be platform agnostic when finished.

Someday there should be:
Xagl - Apple version paralleling Xglx
Xwgl - Windows version paralleling Xglx
These two versions run inside their respective OSes.
