phantom ESC key stream activity

I pulled out and plugged in the Logitech dongle. Strangely, I can't seem to
reproduce the ESC key stream ever since.

So my guess is that some update (probably the kernel) caused the issue,
removing and restoring the dongle fixed it (?)
