OK, I read the 'Xorg.0.log' file and found:

The same with 'fbdev' and 'vesa'.

I have now recompiled and installed libdrm-2.4.59, ati-7.5.0, fbdev-0.4.4 and vesa-2.3.3.

Now the xrand values in '.xinitrc' are used as before.
