Hi,

I've checked your xorg.1.log. you are using xorg version 1.6.4 with hal and udev support

If you have hald running try to launch your X-server without any xorg.conf.
mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.old

startx

Betreff: new Xorg don't see my connected Monitor

Hello,

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and (I'm not 100% sure) after automatic update
of Xorg packages, now Xorg on

Radeon 7000 AGP (2x VGA output)

has problem to detect one monitor in my dualhead configuration.

After Xorg goes up, this monitor is turned off :-(

I have try to force this monitor "on" in xorg.conf with added Options
and mode definitions, but without effect.

-> see attachments: xorg.conf and log

Xserver say:

--------------
(EE) RADEON(0): Output VGA-0 enabled but has no modes
(EE) RADEON(0): Cannot position output VGA-1 relative to output VGA-0
without modes
--------------

I have to now get "On" my 2. monitor manually with:

xrandr --addmode VGA-0 1024x768
xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1024x768 --left-of VGA-1

--------------
Question is:
--------------

Is it possible to force Xorg (in xorg.conf) to see the Monitor as "connected"
? And how ?

Thank for help (and sorry please my English)

--kapetr
