nouveau and /dev/dri ? [solved]

Just for the record, the answer is no.  I got nouveau_dri.so compiled by
hand and it loads perfectly, no error messages of any kind in the X logs,
but glxgears still runs very slowly.

It was a fun experiment, but now I have to get back to work :)
