diNovo Mini keyboard touchpad works

I was asking about the logitech diNovo Mini keyboard and
mouse events a while back. I have gotten the mouse working
via a usbhid driver "quirk". See:

Now that I have two mice, I really want to know if there
is a way (or plans for there to be a way) to apply different
mouse acceleration parameters to different mice?

I understand yet another rewrite of the X input system
is underway, will (or should) a feature like this be part of it?
