Look at the platform-specific PCI code, on NetBSD it would throw a
FatalError() if /dev/pci0 can't be opened which is completely bogus
since we support a bunch of PCI-less machines with X ( think SBus )
so I had to change that. I suspect you might have to do something
similar.
