Thanks for that. I'll try it tomorrow.

Just in case, I've bought a maleHDMI-femaleDVI adapter. Who know,
"degrading" the connectivity to DVI (missing pins?) in the path may
force the TV into becoming more communicative.

I'll try both and report my findings here.
