The NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.09-pkg1 binary driver works flawlessly. I have long
ago written a script and figured out how to make it build the module for a
new kernel that doesn't have one made for it yet, launched as the last line
in my rc.local script. If its just a reboot, the module will already be
there and the script tells me its already installed and exits gracefully.

Copies on request. :)
