Suggestions for properly abstracting multiple screens.

I do seem to be lost in semantics

My simple point was
X should see in terms of Screens (with certain capabilities)
vgaArbitrator is helping it see in terms of devices
(ideally vgaArbitrator should help it see in terms of screens across
multiple gpus)
why should X think/deal in terms of "GPU devices" instead of "screen devices"

I am interested in the modesetting work, you mentioned,
perhaps that will enable multiseat, independent X on 1 gpu

on that note lets agree to close this thread.
(I am drowning in semantics :-) thus not able to add any value to the
discussion.)
