Thanks for your reply.

As I said, I rather like Intel controllers; in fact, I purposefully sought
one for my main workstation.

Unfortunately, I read in the README of the intel driver:

# - Gray output with integrated TV-out and PAL TVs.

And the TV I want to plug is, indeed PAL (SECAM, actually, but afaik, that's
equivalent for S-video signal). If my digital video recorder is only able to
display films in black-and-white, I doubt it will be a success.

That is one information I would like to get here: this comment in the README
file, is it still accurate?
