Actually, an input developer asked last year, and IIRC he was sponsored
to buy a tablet.  As Eric put it, the problem we have is not finances or
anything like that, but simply time.  If anyone with adequate time lacks
hardware, please (_please_) get in touch with the X.Org Foundation --
board at foundation.x.org.
