Ok, so unplugging the extension board that I am using seemed to solve the problem, I am going to upgrade to experimental now (xorg 1.4) and see if that works. Could this be a bug with the extension board I am using:

I tried upgrading to debian unstable, (xorg 1.4), upon rebooting I was greeted by a black screen that no amount of fiddling with xorg.conf could get rid of. I then reinstalled with testing (xorg 1.3) and encountered the same problem. Again my chipset:

Intel® 945GM + Intel® ICH7R Chipset

driver i810, anyone encountered any problems like this?

Here's some choice output from my x log:

"X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 1.3

Current Operating System: Linux debian 2.6.22-2-686 #1 SMP Fri Aug 31 00:24:01 UTC 2007 i686"

It may work with the older i810 driver is the bios supports the ADD-2
card, however your best bet is to upgrade to the latest xserver and
intel
driver. It supports ADD-2 cards just fine, although I'm not
sure if anyone has tested a LVDS ADD-2 card. Eric or Keith would know
better.
