xorg crashing with "Fatal server error: lockup" in xorg.log and "[drm:drm_lock_free] *ERROR* 1 freed heavyweight lock held by 2" in messages

First report (in email you replied to) was made for a locally created 3D
application which is written here.

To make this more reproducable, I tried to reproduce the bug with
glxgears and had stunning success ...

When running glxgears and having the mouse-over bubble "above" glxgears,
the system crashes reproducably here, everytime.
