Yes, of course, the usual xorg.conf rules apply.  You hook the monitor
up to the driver by adding

Section "Device"
   ...
   option "monitor-TMDS-1" "ExternalMonitor"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
  Identifier "ExternalMonitor"
  ...
EndSection

to your xorg.conf file.
