Intel drivers on Fedora Core 6

When I try to use the Intel drivers instead of i810 on Fedora with my Intel
845GM attached to a DLP (Actually D-ILA) screen via component video, I just
get a black screen when X starts.  Same happens when I use the HDMI out
using the i810 and intel drivers.  I want to be able to run 1280 x 720 sized
to fit my screen.  Can this be done with Fedora Core 6 and the 845GM?
