Indeed it was. Thanks for pointing out the obvious problem of incorrect
build ordering. Now it works a lot better.

At the moment I have my X60 with the LVDS on (1024x768 native) and my
external TFT connected via VGA. The TFT has a native resolution of
1680x1050, but:

$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 240, current 1024 x 768, maximum 2048 x 768
VGA connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   1024x768       60.0*
   800x600        60.3
   640x480        59.9
LVDS connected 1024x768+0+0 246mm x 185mm
   1024x768       50.0*+   60.0     40.0
   800x600        60.3
   640x480        60.0     59.9
TV disconnected 0mm x 0mm

What I want to do is to disable the LVDS, enable the VGA, and extend the
size of the screen to 1680x1050. Is this possible? If I try xrandr
--fb I get this:

$ xrandr  --fb 1680x1050
xrandr: screen cannot be larger than 2048x768 (desired size 1680x1050)

Attached again is the xorg.log from me running xrandr --auto. I do
notice that 1680x1050 is missing from the probed mode list from the
TFT. :(

Thanks for the help,
Ross
