If you build the packages with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip set you can
attach a gdb and see what is happening in more detail.

I saw a crash in i810 that was fixed with a patch mailed to the list (I
think it was integrated, basically modes had a NULL name, which was then
passed to strcmp).  I hope I didn't upload an old i810 build...
