I also have the X3100, in an Aopen MP965 w/ 2GB of ram. I'm running the latest
drivers from git, and have filed bug reports for several non-performance related
bugs that I've found. I haven't seen the crash when moving the window, but my
3D performance is also quite bad: I consistently score just under 600fps with
glxgears. My N64 emulator chokes a little when the polygon count goes high,
while it's perfect with an older GeForce 6600 fanless card in my desktop PC.
Like others have mentioned, I waited for and bought the i965 hardware with hopes
for good performance and open source driver support. If the GMA950 could do
1100fps with glxgears then there must be something really wrong, because my
MiniPC can only do half that. Earlier versions of the driver did about 850 but
I don't think I ever saw numbers higher than this.
