About some git repositories

  About repository xf86-video-ast, commit
486380cd85cdd2532300905ee588be48480ce1dc
seens weird as it was done by root at localhost.localdomain, and it is a big
commit, and it is also the commit that bumped the version:
486380cd (root             2007-08-24 21:13:39 +0800 25)         0.84.7,
  Is there some plan for an "official" version of it soon?

  Well, I also am building a list of commits that I believe should have a
xf86-{video,input}-{name}-{version} tag. Or whatever other name is expected
to be used, as that pattern is used by most modules with an "uptodate" tag,
but there are some that use other patterns, usually ommiting
xf86-{video,input} and using underscores instead of dots.
  Most of them are after the commit adding .gitignore/.cvsignore and/or
adding the a macro to specifiy version, or the change to generate changelogs
from git.
  I will try to post the proper commits once I have this finished, in case
someone has interest.

  Also, is there some consensus, or does people even know :-) that there is
alot of broken input modules that won't work with origin/server-1.4-branch
currently ? Broken due to unresolved symbols like xf86IsCorePointer,
xf86XInputSetSendCoreEvents, (and RRGetRotation in the fpit module),
also the fact that the acecad module uses dlopen/dlclose on libsysfs.so
for Linux may not be wise, it should just link agains't it, or not, and
there is precedence, like several modules "inhering" libm functions from
the server.
