issue with display output

hi,
im using

X Window System Version 7.2.0
Release Date: 22 January 2007
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.2

the display im using is Samsung SyncMaster 940NW (flat panel), with the
following specifications:

pixel pitch        : 0.285
horizontal freq    : 30-81khz
vertical freq      : 56-75hz
max. resolution    : 1440x900
sync type          : Separate H/V, Composite H/V, SOG

from the max resolution i can tell that its a 16:10 screen aspect ratio
display.
i have the following modelines in my xorg.conf

of the above, the 1280x768 works great and everything appears on the
screen just right.

i want to open the xserver display at 1024x640 resolution, but i have no
idea how to specify the Modeline for this resolution.
i read the xorg.conf manual for the Modeline parameter, but i just did not
get it. im going nuts trying to figure this out.
