sDVO HDMI and mostly black screen

The saga continues. More weirdness...

I am desperate for any type of consistency with my problem. I'm having a
hard time finding it. After all, if it is a software problem, it is a
coded problem, which, usually, should give a consistent problematic
result. If it is software, then it is a bug, and it can someday be fixed
by clever people.

If there is no consistency, it may well be a hardware problem, and I
"just" have to change it, and that's it.

Now... I may have something (again, you will say).

For the sake of experience, I have plugged a VGA cable between the TV
and the machine, at the same time as the HDMI-HDMI cable.

I have attached my xorg.conf file. You will see that, from what I
gathered here and elsewhere, should completely shut off any type of VGA
output.

Guess what? I get X starting on this plug! 

It is in 4:3 aspect ratio, but the resolution is really 1920x1080. I get
weird colors too. I am afraid to stay that way for too long; It is
clearly using the HDMI ModeLine.

If I then switch my TV to the HDMI input, using the remote, I get my
perfect HDTV picture.

The logs do not show that VGA is involved at all.
The xorg.conf has always been the same.

In order to consistently get my good picture on HDMI, I have to boot the
machine with both cables connected to the TV (VGA and HDMI), be switched
to the VGA input and then switch to HDMI.

Anything missing to "the process", and it is a hit and miss, with 99%
misses.

Sure, the method sounds dodgy and not very scientific, but this is the
best I got.
