xv acceleration and the ps3

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice. I may take a look into mplayer and vlc, but I'm
thinking for the moment it would be worthwhile to try and organise
people to request video hardware access from Sony and concentrate on
ffmpeg - which will need the acceleration regardless of video
hardware.

If anyone has experience with organizing these types of things please
contact me off-list.
