I would suggest to update sax2 first:

	ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/sax/head-build/i386/suse-10.0

after the update you can call

	sax2 -r

most suitable from runlevel 3 and select the DualHead
checkbox. The generated xorg.conf will contain a device
section with an active MergedFB configuration. Please note
there are lots of problematic issues around this topic concerning
the radeon driver. The most annoying one is that it is in almost
all cases not possible to have a higher resolution on the
external channel compared to the native panel resolution.

If you don't have a problem in using a binary driver you can
try to use ATI's fglrx driver if there are non solvable problems
while using radeon which hopefully won't happen.

Marcus
