FWIW, NVIDIA is very interested in this extension and has contributed
to the spec.  We don't have an implementation, yet, but we intend
to provide one.

I don't believe the functionality changes, regardless of the
implementation of the driver.  I see texture_from_pixmap as a good
long term direction.
