Am not sure if it is directly cairo related, but on my machine, running
in 16bpp is the only way to get DRI, but firefox 1.5.beta1/2 crashes a
lot under 16bpp. Using a higher bitdepth is not currently possible with
a radeon card with >= 16mb memory.
