help with building X11.app & XDarwin.app w/ x.org on OSX

hi all,

in recent attempts at building x.org's v6.8.99.14 on OSX 10.4.1, the 'normal' 
build completes fine.

after applying 'old' patches for support, the builds of X11.app &/or 
XDarwin.app -- requiring (?) a 'manual' make/install in 
.../xc/programs/Xserver/hw/darwin *do* complete, delivering:

    /usr/X11R6/Applications/X11.app
    /usr/X11R6/bin/XDarwin.app

but neither launches ...

i'll guess that this is prob'ly a patch/process issue ....

is there a current HowTo, or relevant thread, for building these apps w/ latest 
X11 snapshot?

or am i missing an obvious 'gotcha'?
