I found it, the box that was supposed to be doing the forwarding had
the setting 'X11Forwarding no' in its /etc/ssh/sshd_config file.
Reset to yes & restarted ssh, and its all working.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should use this
address: <gene.heskett at verizononline.net> which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
