I used to have this in my .Xmodmap file to make the numpad keys work in
editors for text selection. Now something has changed in the Redhat
Xorg server such that this doesn't work any more. What is the right way
to make the numpad keys work for text selection?

keycode 79 = KP_Home
keycode 80 = KP_Up
keycode 81 = KP_Prior
keycode 82 = KP_Subtract
keycode 83 = KP_Left
keycode 84 = KP_Begin
keycode 85 = KP_Right
keycode 86 = KP_Add
keycode 87 = KP_End
keycode 88 = KP_Down
keycode 89 = KP_Next
keycode 90 = KP_Insert
keycode 91 = KP_Delete
