[OT] Xv + xine/mplayer: bad movie aspect ratio?

Hi,

sorry for a somewhat off-topic question, but I think the most competent
people are listening here...

I used and old XFree 86 on a Mac G4 "Silver" with self-compiled xine and
mplayer, both using the Xv output plugin, which worked perfectly. Now I
upgraded to Yellowdog Linux 4, coming with a Xorg X11 pre-release (rpm's
are named xorg-x11-0.0.6.6-0.0.2004_03_11.9.ydl.1). Since then, both
mplayer and xine show a bad aspect ratio when using the Xv output plugin.
The size of the output window is correct (e.g.720x412, so there shouldn't
be mem overflows), but the movie looks much taller, and some part is
clipped.

Other plugins (like shm or opengl) show the right output aspect ratio. I
even tried to recompile xine, but the problem is still there.

Any ideas?

Tia, cheers,

Albrecht.
