Yes.  This was done to make transitioning from XF86 4.3 to Xorg 6.7 as 
painless as possible.  In general config files that work under XFree86 4.x 
(where x <= 4) should work fine under Xorg.

Just rename is fine.  The keyboard driver issue is a warning because we're 
deprecating the old keyboard(4), but it should fall back to the kbd(4) driver 
automatically.

Not yet, because there aren't any issues really.  Though we don't pick up 
XF86Config-4 if we're missing both xorg.conf and XF86Config.  Personally I'm 
surprised anyone still generates files named XF86Config-4.
