Unfortunately, I don't think we have the original pre-X11R6.7 RCS histories
anymore, so have to rely on comments in source code & man pages for those.
For changes that were originally made at XFree86, checking the XFree86
ChangeLogs/CVS trees is helpful for determining who to credit.
