When I rewrote the macro the last time, I tried to make sure everything
was overridable at build time by environment variables when running
configure. (Yes, it should probably be done via configure command line
flags, but I didn't have time - patches accepted.)
You should be able to set APP_MAN_SUFFIX, APP_MAN_DIR, and so on to
change whereever you want them to go to or be named as.
