Hey all -

This is the quarterly roadmap update for the xf86-video-geode driver.

We just released version 2.10.0, which added OLPC support to the upstream
driver and fixed a few outstanding bugs.

The next release 2.11.0 is targeted for September 15 (Q3). The major new
feature for that release will be RandR 1.2 support. This has been
something that has been our TODO list for a while. OLPC (among others) have
expressed a desire to take advantage of screen scaling by switching the
mode for certain applications, and thats really only possible with RandR
1.2.

The Q4 2.12.0 release is targeted for December 15. This release
will merge all of the Geode support from MediaGX through LX into a
single driver. I have been told that there might be people interested
in doing this work for the Q3 release, but there haven't been any solid
commitments yet.

After that, the roadmap is empty. X 1.6 will release around the
December timeframe as well, so there will likely be some new features
that we'll want to support in the driver, but we'll have to wait for
those to take shape. Its possible that the kernel modesetting craze
will hit us at some point during the next 9 months so we'll have to
absorb that if it becomes critical.

As always, we will take recommendations for new roadmap items, and
we will gratefully accept offers to help with development.

Thank you for listening,
Jordan
