Ok, so using only vanilla kernels from ftp.kernel.org, as I've told 2.6.38.2
also does not work, however 2.6.37.6 seems to be OK! So the problem is
introduced between these versions, I guess. I tried to compile 2.6.38 but the
compilation fails, so I could not test that kernel version:
