I've downloaded kernel 2.6.38.2 from ftp.kernel.org, and I compiled it. With
KMS disabled it worked. However with KMS left to work, the very same problem, I
used your advise to load kernel with KMS disabled then removing then
re-inserting radeon module with KMS enabled. I will try other vanilla kernel
like 2.6.37 so I can see where the problem began, hopefully.
