For me, KMS doesn't change anything: the bug happens whatever the KMS settings.

Also, desktop-effects only changes the speed at which the bug hits me.

A quick way to reproduce the bug on my computer: open a big web page in Google
Chrome (or Chromium) and scroll up and down quickly and repeatedly. Or, in
Firefox, play on a website that does animated resizing.

Oddly, if I manage to keep using my system for a while after it goes all
garbled without rebooting (most of the corruption is relegated to glyphs, so
changing font sizes helps), it will eventually limp back into a state which is
almost usable. (As I'm posting this, for example, only the "6"s and "[" in "Bug
27529 - [rs690m]" are garbled. Half an hour ago, almost every glyph was
garbled.)

Oh, and not to pester, but this bug is _horrible_ and I don't know of a
workaround. Any hints?
