Problem with RS482: Screen gray with lines

Make sure you have the kms enabled drm loaded before X starts and that
your ddx (xf86-video-ati) is compiled with kms support.  Check dmesg
as well.  Your xorg log shows that the ddx is loading in ums mode
which will cause conflicts of kms is also active.
