Asus/M2A-VM hdmi trouble

Hello to anyone who reads this (I haven't found if this is a mailing
list or a simple mailbox).
I have this motherboard with gentoo installed on it. A TV is connected
to the hdmi port and that's the only screen avaiable.
The screen is an hd-ready tv (1280x720).

It used to work sometimes with fglrx (sometimes it gave a "blue screen
of no-signal") until today, when it ceased to work completely.
I am trying radeonhd and open source ati drivers, and so far ati gave
the better results (the blue screen goes away when X is killed - with
fglrx and radeonhd it remains until the powerdown)
