strange behavior on Radeon 7000/VE

I don't follow what's happening here.  should the green circles not be
there at all or should they be a different color or what?

Do any of the following options help?
Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
Option "RenderAccel" "FALSE"
Option "BusType" "PCI"

Also, you are suing xserver 1.3 which is pretty old.  You might have
better luck with 1.4 or newer.
