r128 or new card

Hi.

I'm using an old xpert2000 card. It has r128. My other card died but I had 
this and...
Well, in the past, at least with xfree86, I remember using it with 3d. 
glxgears gave me about 500-600 fps. But now dri doesn't work. It even hangs 
the machine. I wanted to ask this before, but yesterday, in the announce for 
6.8.191, I saw that r128 is being deprecated. It doesnt' surprise me, after 
all. Well, I wanted to know if there is any hope of having a stable 3d with 
this card, perhaps with an older driver. But I can't test every version. I 
must say that I have **lots** of random crashes too, but I thought that the 
driver was buggy. Perhaps it's buggy only for this chipset. Well, if I have 
to buy another one, what about a sapphire 9600? It must be pretty old, 
because I've seen it for only 27.95€. But my whole pc is pretty old too, 
so...
