these are the relevant registers:

It looks like your Powerbook uses an external TMDS transmitter rather than the
built in one. This makes sense as I think the Powerbook can drive the big
Apple monitor which requires dual link TMDS. It works because the bios takes
care of initializing and powering up the external chip. Unfortunately, we
don't have any working code yet for dealing with external TMDS chips.
