/var/log/dpkg.log should help you.

You might have upgraded xserver-xorg-core to 1.3.0 two days ago. Knowing
which version you had before might help. dpkg.log knows that too.

It could be mesa 6.5.2 too. Do you have a 3D screensaver running on this
machine?
