Both problems happen with Xephyr as well. Interestingly, I've discovered
in the meantime that the text in the xterm window can appear by itself
after a while. Not sure what triggers it, though.
The window decoration garbage looks like wrong texture coordinates; e.g.
the window title text is incorrectly scaled sometimes when resizing the
window.
