Nice work. I had a merged 'drm-radeon-testing'-to-2.6.33-rc8 kernel
that was probably working about 10 days ago, but I was getting black
screens because of a DVI-to-VGA adapter. Mistakenly thinking that
kernel was broken, I overreacted and deleted it (and the git branch I
had made).

Since then, I was using the 2.6.32 kernel in 'drm-radeon-testing'. But
tonight I merged 'drm-radeon-testing' against the new 2.6.32.9 and it's
working fine, so I have my first successful git merge under my belt! :)

Yeah, it will be nice to get some power management for these Evergreens
someday, so they don't just sit there and cook all the time.

Even more than that, I'm looking forward to testing the initial attempts
to provide 2D and or 3D acceleration for these cards. During the Fall I
was experimenting with getting 3D accel and KMS working on HD 4850, and
I taught myself how to make DEB packages so I wouldn't mess up my
filesystem. That was fun, but it would be even more fun to be able to
contribute code. If only I had enough time....

Yes, major agreement on that score!
