Actually, the Raspberry Pi Foundation did in fact make a version of Raspberry Pi OS desktop version for PC and Mac. ( <a href="https://downloads.raspberrypi.com/rpd_x86/images/">https://downloads.raspberrypi.com/rpd_x86/images/</a>) I believe it was made available in 2022, and it was based on Debian 11. Generally it works quite well, I was able to install it on an ancient, underpowered Intel Atom tablet that had terribly limited resources, I.e. 1 GB of ram. So, once again, I am trying to install RPi OS on a similarly old and underpowered by today's standards, a GE Industrial PC. There is probably an incompatibility with the VIA processor, but I was able to get AntiX to run on it, and also Debian 11 i386. But I am looking to get RPi running on this as a backup for a PC that is monitoring and controlling solar generation at my home.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large">Thanks</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large">Bill</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote gmail_quote_container"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Aug 20, 2025 at 7:42 AM <<a href="mailto:wstein25@gmail.com">wstein25@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left-width:1px;border-left-style:solid;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><br>
