      changes will suggest new release
      ensure ncomment and nimage values are positive
      add debug-trace for the configuration information
      fix overlooked compiler-warning
      reduce the message-check to ignore the over-long one
      amend per merge_requests/22#note_2642034
      amend per merge_requests/22#note_2642042
